This is the north side of the back yard. Top left: Wax leaf ligustrum in the background. This area has three varieties of zinnias, cotton plants, two varieties of cosmos, tomato plants, marigolds, liriope, plumbago, society garlic, bush beans, coleus, Mexican petunia, Katie ruellia, several purple fountain grass. Right: a shot from a slightly different angle of this area of the back yard. Above: Cucumbers grow up a tall trellis. Also visible are tomato plants, bush beans, peppers, borage, etc.

Above: You can barely see one of the purple fountain grass peeping up in front of the fence. They will be a tall as the fence by end of summer.
Below: the south side of the back yard where I have built three large raised beds for my garden. See the tall corn in the background on the left. Left: my huge compost pile. I continuously use and replenish it. All along the back is a fence, along which I will build a raised bed and plant pineapple guava. It makes a wonderful hedge with shiny green leaves on the top, a silvery underleaf, beautiful blooms, and fruit for the birds. |
