I
have followed your advice of visiting your website http://www.peacefulwarrior.us as you
encouraged me to do. It is warm and personal, and expresses your devotion to one
another. Barbie and I hold the same sentiments, albeit, we just had our 25th on Jan.
15th. The following year, that date was declared a national holiday.
-- No, it had nothing to do with us, it was that Martin Luther King guy.
Anyway, I read your testimony regarding your legal case, and your joy in learning and practicing the law as a pro se in defense of the action against Harry.
Having
exercised my pro se status within the courts for 18 years with 14 trips up
through the courts to the United States Supreme Court, I learned a great deal,
namely that the courts don't give a hoot about law, facts, justice, or
whose lives they ruin.
Barbie,
early on, worked 16 years for the District Attorney's Office on this end. She
just loved researching the law for hours upon hours, and in composing law
briefs. However, that silver lining has faded, because she has discovered that
no matter how much the law or the facts are on your side, you are battling pure
politics in the court system that is incapable of adding 2 plus 2 and
arriving at the correct answer of 4.
Our
appellate questions became as fundamental as, is water wet, do birds fly, and
does the sun illuminate the daylight. "Denied," "Frivolous!"
Your
explanation of the lower courts sometimes wishing to pass on an issue so it can
be decided by the appellate courts, presumes integrity. But this is the lacking
ingredient in the courts that exist all the way up through the appellate
courts. I have found that the higher you go, the more corruption you will
encounter. Illustratively, I tell people that scum always rises to the
top just like in a stagnant pond.
I
wish I could tell you that exercising our rights and talents within the courts
were as simple as portrayed on your site, but sadly it is not. While it is
true that a judge generally gives attorneys more respect than a pro se, often
the end results are all the same, and that is particularly so when an attorney
is kicking against the corrupt attorneys in faithfully fighting for the rights of
his client.
Attorneys
across this nation are now coming out of the woodwork to join us in JAIL4Judges.org,
telling us their own sour experiences in the courts while defending their
client's causes. Some are being disbarred not because of dishonestly, but for
quite the contrary reason. We even have a Florida judge as a member who has been
removed from the bench and disbarred because he dared to challenge the system re
honesty and integrity.
My point is, your simplistic statements of just documenting the facts and citing the law approach is sure to encounter a bridge abutment up ahead. Believe me, many of our members within J.A.I.L. have been where you are, including yours truly and Barbie, a first-class litigator.
We
know from first-hand years of experience. I would like you, Dottie and Harry, to
consider joining our national effort to bring about judicial accountability
and integrity. We are just simple folks like you. Some are professionals, and
some back hills type people, but we all want to pool our efforts to bring about
accountability for everyone. We would like to have your efforts along with us.
